Review from Travis- 4/26/2011
"Not only is Athena beautiful, but Eevie has provided me with the most wonderfully socialized, docile, and playful Green Cheek Conure I could have asked for!
Eevie’s preparation of her babies for new homes is readily apparent the moment you pick your baby up. The day I picked Athena up from the airport a mere 5 minutes into the car ride she was sitting at the front of her cage, taking almonds out of my hand, and bobbing up and down to come out. The moment I got her home she was flying around, playing with toys, and eager to step up – the transition from Eevie’s home to mine seemed seamless! I have had Athena now for 4 months and she has matured to be independent birdie who is eager to play with any new toy, yet she is consistently eager to cuddle. She has adapted perfectly to my lifestyle and I could not stress enough how important it is to buy from a breeder (because my first GCC was from a big-chain pet store.. the differences between a well-socialized bird and one from a big-chain pet store are enormous!) who treats and prepares her babies as well as Eevie does.
I am most eager to write this part of the reference because I believe this is what sets the great breeders apart from the good breeders. From the day I contacted Eevie about buying a baby she was quick to reply and eager to share her hard-earned knowledge of her craft. Eevie knows all of the idiosyncrasies of green cheek conures and succinctly replies to all emails and provides her phone number in which I would not doubt she would use. From the day I first contacted Eevie about a baby (in December 2010) to now she has been available to answer any questions I have had about Athena. I highly recommend Eevie!! Thank you, Eevie, from Travis (me) and Honey (my other GCC)!"

Review from Stacey- 1/20/2011
"He's everywhere at once. He loves "hide and seek" and his jingle ball is HIS! And his favorite spot is the top of my head! I nicknamed him "Michael Flatley" because he gets so excited, it's like having the entire cast of Riverdance on my head! LOL! He loves to look out the window from the top of his playstand, and today we had a mini-blizzard! He must have thought he had been stuck in a snow globe! Right up until our two neighborhood moose arrived! Oh, how he cheeped and squawked at them! Of course, he was safely behind the window and they couldn't hear a single cheep. But HE didn't know that!
He's testing his limits now, learning that nipping is NOT acceptable behavior, fingers are not chew toys, and Brian's head is not a landing strip! (He had fallen asleep on the couch, and Fortus thought it would be fun to do touch and go's off a sleeping body!). But he loves to explore, snuggle and take baths and playtime is ANY time! We tried some squash squares today and a section of clementine orange, both of which he loved. Not so sure about the banana just yet, but he does like the ZuPreem pellets and Nutriberries. And climbing up the living room drapes!
But he's my beautiful baby and is always SO happy! I love him all to pieces and he's already spoiled rotten! And he knows it! Birdie bedtime, so I have to round him up. He's pretty good, except when HE doesn't think it's bedtime. Then we play "can't catch me!" until I pretend to ignore him, and he flies right to me."

"I can't say enough about what a wonderful experience I have had adopting from Eevie and Derek (Oklahoma Green Cheeks)! We have only had our little girl for 72 hours and we are already completely in love. As a first time bird owner I wasn't sure what to expect and Eevie patiently walked me through everything I needed to know and answered all of my questions very knowledgeably and honestly. The amount of care and attention she gives to each individual bird is phenomenal! Between all of the stories, pictures and videos I knew exactly what type of personality she would have and how to work with it.
The day she arrived at the airport we fully expected her to be a little shaken up and withdrawn from the plane trip. Boy were we wrong! She sat against the crate door munching on pellets and asking for neck rubs. When we got home and let her out we expected her to fly around the room in a panic. Nope. She "stepped up" right away and immediately went to my boyfriends shoulder and snuggled in. Within 24 hours she was already comfortable enough to take a bath in my hands. By 48 hours her true personality started to come out....She began happily playing in her cage and testing out all of her toys while cooing and whistling to herself. Each night she is ready to go to bed promptly at 10pm. She talks herself to sleep and then doesn't make another peep for 12 hours. Each day has truly been better then the one before it.
I could not recommend Oklahoma Green Cheeks more. I feel very grateful to have found such a wonderful breeder! Our new family member has exceeded our expectations by miles! Thank you, Eevie and Derek, for bringing so much care and love to your small aviary!"

(Ivy in her new home!)
"I cannot recommend Eevie (and Derek!) enough when looking for a Yellow Sided GCC baby. Eevie was available and more than happy to answer any and all questions no matter how often they were asked.*
She was incredibly patient and supportive while I tried to make up my mind about the gender of my new baby and didn't mind at all how many times I changed my mind.*
When Ivy (I finally decided on a little girl) finally came home (I had been waiting for my baby before they were even eggs!) she was a bit nervous and excited (bitey) being in a new place so different from her home. Not to mention, she traveled nearly 12 hours to get here! (California)
After about 2 weeks she seems to have settled into our home nicely. She is a super sweet baby who loves her baths, any type of food she is offered, snuggles, and hanging out with her new Pineapple GCC friend Olive. They are still getting to know each other, but Ivy seems to be winning Olive over.
Eevie loves all of her babies and does her best to make sure they go to homes that will spoil them rotten!!*
Ivy is my little love and I couldn't be happier with the baby Eevie raised.*"

(Sky before going home)
"Sky is doing great!!! Paige says her personality is really developing!! She is eating great we have seed, pellets and give her fresh food every day and she eats it all! I just gave her some green beans and raspberries. My other bird isn't a big fan of hers yet but she is warming up a little bit, I think over time they will be the best of friends. Sky wants to be friends with her soooo bad but has been rejected so far. She spends tons of time outside her home with both of the girls and while they are at school I spend a little one on one with her. For a long time we couldn't get her to take a bath and we offered her everything, pie plate, bowls, sink, spray bottle but she wanted nothing to do with any of it. Just the other day she finally decided to bathe. She prefers the sink! She is very fascinated with water for sure, whenever I'm doing dishes in the sink she flys over and walks around the bar and watches me while doing her acrobatics."

"Thank you so much for a sweet, sweet bird. She and Olive are getting along great!! Olive was very excited to have a new friend. They have been side by side since I brought her home. We haven’t decided on a name for sure yet but the kiddos are calling her Sunshine. She loved the run!!"

Valentina in her new home
"We just back from Oklahoma with our Valentina! First, I want to say how grateful I am to Oklahoma Green Cheeks for the excellent, outstanding job she has done in hand raising Valentina. From the time she took Valentina out of her travel cage and put her in my hand, she was a perfect angel! She does not bite, is affectionate, loving, playful from the first second I held her. You can put her on her back and scratch her tummy, she loves it. You can pet her anywhere, including underneath her wings and she is a perfect sweetheart. She gives face rubs, she talks. As I told OKGC, she not only met our expectations, she exceeded our dreams. Valentina adopted us from the second she met us. I am just floored, I really am!
I cannot recommend Oklahoma Green Cheeks highly enough, I really can’t! The job she has done with Valentina, the way she has educated me before I got her in what to do and what not to do for her, what she would need, what she likes went beyond what I could even anticipate with my highest expectations, honestly. After meeting her, seeing the way she interacted with Valentina, the trust and bond she had developed with her, it told me everything I needed to know about her as a breeder. She has two clutches a year, the next one will be in the Fall sometime, we already have dibs on one of the next babies!! J She does not ship at this time, at least that is my understanding, but trust me when I say it would be well, well worth the trip to Oklahoma to get one of her babies!! We are very lucky we are in Texas and it was less than a two hour drive for us, but a 2 or 3 day one would have been worth it!
I AM JUST THRILLED, HAPPY, EXCITED, and SO GRATEFUL!
THANK YOU OKLAHOMA GREEN CHEEKS FOR THE WONDERFUL ADDITION TO OUR FAMILY!"

(Aeden right before going home)
“I also got a precious little baby from Eevie at Oklahoma Green Cheeks. I am a teacher and take her daily to the classroom. From the first day, she was sweet and allowed my students with special needs to rub her, play with her and cuddle with her. They hand feed carrot match sticks to her and really get a kick out of when she dives in the bowl of water. We have a bean bag right beside her cage and play area. When one of the kids sits on the bean bag, she gets all excited and bounces up and down to get the attention. We did have a little scare when she charged up into my eclectus' play area and Nani scared her. She went through about four days of quiet but now she is back to being Aeden. I never needed to go through the taming process, she was very well socialized by Eevie (and all of Eevie's feathered friends). Also, even now, Eevie is there to help me with any question or concern I may have. There is no way I can express enough gratitude to Oklahoma Green Cheeks for this wonderful gift of love.”

Skittles before going home
"Hello, I don't know if you remember us but we met you 1-5-09 in Norman in the wal-mart parking lot and bought one of your yellowsided geencheek conures. I have three daughters and two boys so the boys said he is a boy to make it more even in the family, we have named him Skittles he is so beautiful, fun, loving, personable, and smart. we have trained him to kiss when we ask, fly to our finger, we say do the dance and most of the time he will bob his head up and down, and when we hold him over the trash can and say go poopy he will. My children bought Skittles with their Christmas money they wanted him. I have to be honest i have not been a bird person growing up, my mom had some canaries and all they did was poop everywhere make a horrible mess all around their cage, but I have fallen love with Skittles and he has become my bird, he always flies to me when he gets a chance to, he is surprisingly a wonderful pleasure and addition to our family, thank you so much for making him possible for us and would love to someday get him a buddy when we can."
